Biography: Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela

1918 - born in  Transkei, Saouth Africa
1942 - educated at University of Fort Hare, Witwatersrand, qualified in law
1944 - joined the African National Congress
1948 - was engaged resistance against National apartheid policies
1956-1961 - put  on trail for treason
1961 - was acquitted
1962 - arrested and sentenced five years hard labour
1963 - brought on trail for plotting overthrow government by violence
1964 - sentenced life in imprisonment
1964-1982 - served his time in Robben Island Prison
1983-1990 - moved to, Pollsmoor Prison
1990 - released in Feb 11
1991 - became president

Nelson mondella was born in18July 1918. He was educated college student who qualified in law in 1942 and later he joined the African National Congress in 1944. Mandella was involved in politic in 1948 and he went on trial for treason in 1956- 1961  and was acquitted. 


He had a turning point in 1962, because he got arrested and sentence to 5 years in hard labour jail for involving using violent tactic on his campaign.


Later 1963, Mandella  was brought to stand trial with his followers and sentenced to life in prison.
During his years in prison, Nelson Mandela's reputation grew steadily. He was widely accepted as the most significant black leader in South Africa.


 Mandella was released in 11 February 1990 and he dedicate himself for his work and piked up where he left it.
